Mike Vogel has done a bunch of television, but never before has he taken on a part that allows him to marry his two greatest loves: aviation and acting. But thanks to a little stroke of good timing, now he can, with ABC’s 1960s airline drama, Pan Am.
Remember when air travel was not only a luxury but so luxurious that one could stretch out in plush leather seats, with a whole row to his or herself, and be waited on by young women instructed to take care of every need, from additional drink orders, to escorting your kids to the cockpit, to looking for lost items that might have rolled around in turbulence? No? Well…us either. But we know it was once the case; air travel was once part of the vacation, not just the method used to arrive at one. And ABC’s new period drama Pan Am transports us to that time and place, wrapping us in a rich and involving, and yes, quite magical, story warmer than any airline blanket.
Alright, so I just watched this new, freaking awesome showed called Pan Am on ABC. You definitely should watch it. Let me make some points as to why it was amazing:
1. The soundtrack was PERFECTION. Let’s go back to the 60’s, yall.. <3
2. The girl from Penelope is one of the main characters! Christina Ricci<3 (she was in that movie with James McAvoy, so yay! but that’s beside the point lol…)
3. I totally recognized Annabelle Wallis from the ONE scene she had in X-Men: First Class…probably because that movie was one of the best things I’ve ever seen…still need to buy it, but I have no money. </3
4. Mike Vogel did an awesome job in it! I totally did not recognize him at all, but he was the douchebag in Blue Valentine and he was also in The Help! (Such a good movie btw.) He was also in the travelling pants movie, which i’ve seen, but totally don’t remember haha…he’s also in cloverfield which i still NEED to see…
5. Now that I’ve got the actor part out of the way haha…the storyline was freaking WONDERFUL. i have literally not been this excited for the next episode of a show since LOST. which is saying a LOTTTT…………it’s so amazing<3333
Kudos to anyone who just read that……………probably like 0……whatever. I like ranting about things I love(: <3
The new series took flight tonight, ending a week of all new fall premieres. What did we think of the ’60s-set character-driven drama? Find out after the jump! What did you think of the series premiere of Pan Am?
Mike Vogel on Pan Am. Premiering right now!
I still think it’s absolutely insane that I used to cheerlead for him years ago!
